MANISTIQUE – The MHS Class of 1970 held a class reunion on July 9 and celebrated entering a new decade of life, with unknown challenges and opportunities ahead — just as in turbulent 1970 when they graduated from high school in the midst of the Vietnam War.
An ominous quote from their high school yearbook stated: “The Senior Class of 1970 is one which neither the students nor the faculty will soon forget. The class of ’70 opened up the door to a new decade. It is now they will be making their first major decisions of life: college, marriage, the draft, etc. They will be moving into a world of turmoil and despair. They will have to decide whether they are to become part of the problem or part of the solution.”
The classmates attending the reunion unanimously agreed they were all part of the solution.
