MANISTIQUE – Family and friends gathered Sunday to celebrate Dick Keticks 90th birthday at the 40-bar.
Known as Mr. Manistique, Richard “Dick” Ketcik was born in 1933 and grew up during the Great Depression. Dick retired from the Michigan National Guard as a 1st sergeant. During his time in the National Guard, he was mobilized to Detroit in 1967 to quell the riots.
Following his retirement, Dick has served on many committees and charities throughout his life, and still continues to serve today. Those entities include: the American Cancer Society, Lions Club International, CBC, Manistique Downtown Development Association (DDA), Manistique Independence Day Committee, Schoolcraft County Fair Board and he still announces MAS sports on the Radio Results Network. He has no plans of slowing down.
