From the Jan. 14, 2010 edition of the Pioneer Tribune, despite the constant warnings, news stories, and a separate incident where a car went through the ice on Indian Lake just last month, some anglers insist on tempting fate. This pickup went into the water on the north end of Indian Lake last Wednesday afternoon, prompting a fresh round of warnings about dangerous ice conditions. As usual, those conditions vary from location to location – and they will only get more unstable with this week’s unseasonably warm temperatures. All residents and visitors are urged to use extreme caution on inland lakes and to leave their vehicles safely on the shore.
