Thompson Township recently honored the Manistique Recreation Board for its dedication to creating and sustaining recreational opportunities for area residents and visitors. On its recognition plaque, the township noted, “Whether it is strolling through Central Park, attending an event at Little Bear West, or just hearing kids play at Lighthouse Clubhouse recreational activities abound. We live in an extraordinary area and we are fortunate to have a Recreation Board that not only recognizes this, but, actively works to improve the lives of all of us.” At left, Manistique Recreation Department Director Bill Pohlman poses with the plaque awarded to the board. 13p1.jpg
