The Manistique area Girl Scouts recently held their annual cake auction at the First Baptist Church. With the assistance of auctioneer Doug LaFoille, 41 cakes were auctioned off. Some cakes were sold for as high as $100. Over $2,200 was raised during the evening, with all proceeds staying within the community to be used by local scouts. Cakes were judged by area businesses for their creativity and ability to be constructed within stated guidelines. Awards were presented to various scout levels. Those award winners present for a photo included, front row, from left: Kaitlin Jasmin, Kaitlyn Massengill, Brylie Lawrence. Back row: Becca Johnson, Emily Bauman and Kaila Slater. 6p1.jpg
