A film crew from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation recently visited the area. The city is currently competing against 11 other communities across the nation for one of up to six of the foundation’s “Roadmaps to Health” prizes. The city was nominated for the $25,000 prize through a 2012 essay written by the Sault Tribe Strategic Alliance for Health. The Roadmaps to Health competition recognizes communities for their commitment to improving the health of its residents. Winners are expected to be announced by the end of February.
