In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Rouse Simmons, aka the Christmas Tree Ship, Threefold Vine Winery of Garden worked with the Thompson Historical Advisory Committee to recognize the historic event with a special label for their newly bottled red table wine. On Aug. 11, the new label was unveiled at the Manistique Moose Lodge. Andy and Janice Green brought a wide variety of wine, along with the Christmas Tree Ship bottle. Sale of this commemorative wine will be on sale at the winery, as well as at Jack’s Fresh Market in Manistique. A portion of the proceeds from the wine will be donated back to the Thompson Historical Committee to help fund future projects.
