The public is invited to attend the 8th annual “Pioneer Days” taking place June 30 in Pioneer Park, next to Manistique’s historic water tower. At left, demonstrators and visitors inspect a piece of early American equipment during last year’s event. This year, Pioneer Days kicks off at 7:30 a.m., with a “Lumberjack Breakfast” taking place at Emerald City Espresso until 11:30 a.m. A craft show, along with a used book sale, will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Features throughout the day include: musical entertainment; and early American encampment with demonstrations and music; special “Christmas Tree Ship” exhibits; and a Schoolcraft County Chamber of Commerce bake sale. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Schoolcraft County Historical Society.
