“Whitetail hunting season” also began at the Schoolcraft County Medical Care Facility on Nov. 15. Organized by the facility activity department, staff and residents were provided with a hunting license if they wanted to “hunt” during the 2013 season. Their objective is to hunt for deer that are hidden around the facility. Once successfully found, the deer have points written on the back of them which are being recorded on a buck board in the activity room. Participants are allowed a total of three deer for the season. Following a camp style breakfast with all the trimmings, including stories of getting the big one, resident Howard “Mohawk” Ansell set off to participate in the opening day hunt, and is pictured above with his take alongside restorative aide Lisa Bosanic.
