Mrs. Walters Pre-K class at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School recently celebrated national reading month by participating in the “Pizza Hut Book It!” reading rewards program. During the month, each time a child read a book, either at home or at school, the title was recorded on a cut out that was placed on a classroom bulletin board. This is the fifth year students in her class have had the opportunity to watch the cutouts multiply. At the end of the month, the class had accumulated an amazing 780 books. Prizes were rewarded based on the number of books that they read! Students finished off the month of fun reading activities by going out for lunch at Pizza Hut. While there, they also had the opportunity to take a tour of the facility and see how their pizzas were made.
