For the fallen

Pioneer Tribune photos

The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall arrived last week, allowing residents and visitors to experience the powerful and emotion-evoking tribute without visiting the original in Washington, D.C. The memorial made its home in the Manistique Marina from Aug. 2-6, open to visitors 24 hours a day due to volunteer efforts. Above, a veteran walks alongside the tribute. At right, troopers from the Michigan State Police participated in an opening ceremony for the wall. Below, left and right, the sections of wall with local Vietnam casualties Thomas L. Tiglas (left) and Joseph W. Jenks (right) are shown. At bottom, a tribute to the fallen soldiers.
