For most, it was a day of medals.

“What a great day,” said Coach Ashlee Eisinger. “The boys came away with a seventh place out of 11 teams. After scoring just one point at last year’s finals, the boys were able to score 30 this year!”

The girls finished in fifth place with a team score of 44.5

Competing well all year, Ashley McDonald was the lone Emerald to take first, placing in the pole vault with a height of 8 feet.

With smooth handoffs and consistent individual leg runs, the Emerald girls medaled second in both the 4x800 relay and the 4x400 relays.

“Alex Misniakiewicz had an outstanding day, helping to score the majority of his points,” said Eisinger. “He has school records within sight! He qualified in all four of his events and scored third or better in all four of his events. While doing this, he ran his best times of the year in all three of his open events and the boys in the relay tied their fastest time of the year. I could not be more proud of these boys for always giving their best efforts and always stepping up to better the team.”
