School or carnival?

Pioneer Tribune photos

The teachers, staff, and parents at Emerald Elementary teamed up recently to plan and execute the perfect school-wide carnival Tuesday. The carnival replaced class field trips and was part of a week-long school wrap up. Today (Thursday) students will participate in a schoolwide Field Day at the Manistique Middle and High School Track. Activities during the carnival included limbo (top left), face painting (top right), giant kerplunk (bottom left), catapult games (bottom right), and much more. Students were able to participate in activities from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Students from YETI helped during the event and Careers in Education students assisted in decorating the school. Donations were received for goodie bags, the local Kiwanis group allowed the use of some of their games, the Lion’s Club provided cotton candy, and the Green Fire Booster Club and Sandy Spettel provided popcorn. The MHS building trades class constructed several new games for the event, while art students aided in face painting. The event was completely free for students.
