Arthur R. Jasmin Arthur R. Jasmin MANISTIQUE – Arthur R. Jasmin, 65, of Manistique (Thompson), Mich., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at UP Health System Hospital in Marquette, Mich.

He was born Aug. 8, 1952, in Manistique, the son of Oscar and Elsie (Jones) Jasmin and attended school in both Thompson and Manistique.

Art was employed as an equipment operator for much of his life. He worked for American Motors Corporation, Marinette Marine Corporation, Hartman Excavating, Peterson Construction, BACCO and Payne & Dolan. He retired in 2007.

He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324 and the International Laborers Union Local 1329.

Art enjoyed watching NASCAR, football and hunting. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and son-in-law.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara (Kendall) Plante of Thompson; son, Terry Jasmin of Thompson; grandchildren, Karter, Kendra, and Korey Plante; brothers, Fred Jasmin of Thompson, Frank Jasmin of Thompson, Joseph Jasmin of Thompson, Dale (Laurie) Jasmin of Thompson, and Lyle (Glenna) Jasmin of Colorado; sisters, Ellen

Gould of Manistique, Janet (Robert) LeBresh of Manistique and Shirley Swigert of Manistique; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Jasmin; and his brother-in-law’s, Leonard Gould and Winfield Swigert.

There will be a celebration of Art’s life at the Thompson Township Hall in Thompson, Mich., on Saturday, May 12, from 1-4 p.m.

Messier-Broullire Funeral Home of Manistique is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
