A reason to celebrate

Courtesy photo Courtesy photo The GFWC Manistique Women’s Club recently helped four residents of the Schoolcraft County Medical Care Facility to celebrate their January birthdays. Those celebrating were: Donald Carlson, Ken Kamenczak, Lois Nelson, and Donna Walker. Chris Orr and Wade Johnson, along with Barb Landis, provided entertainment. GFWC Manistique Women’s Club volunteers were: Sandy LaFave, Carolyn Miller, Jeanne Gundersen, Betty Briggs, and Susan Hattas-Krumrey. Pictured is Ken Kamenczak receiving his birthday gift and card. The GFWC also recently held a meeting featuring Mary Hook, library director, as the speaker. The library is not just to rent books anymore. Offerings include computer instruction, computer drawing and printing, electronic gizmos, and programs for children and adults. The next GFWC meeting will be Feb. 13 at the Comfort Inn. Michigan State Trooper Patrick Janisse will be speaking. Tickets may be purchased at the People’s Store prior to the meeting and any questions may be directed to the Membership Chair Susan Hattas-Krumrey at (906) 235-9843.
