UP American Legion Posts to hold conference

GLADSTONE – The Upper Peninsula Association of American Legion Posts will hold its midwinter conference at the Marquette Post No. 44 on Jan. 19 and 20.

Registration for the three-day conference begins at 1 p.m. Jan. 19.

Parkinson’s Support Group offered in Newberry

NEWBERRY – A Parkinson’s Support Group has been established for individuals within the community affected by Parkinson’s disease.

The group has been organized to provide support to fellow area residents while also learning more about the disease and ways to manage it. Care partners, family members, and friends are welcome.

The group meets the last Monday of every month from 1-2 p.m. in the Huron Conference Room at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry, Mich.

SOS offices close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

LANSING – Secretary of State Ruth Johnson reminds residents that all offices and the Office of the Great Seal will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Jan. 15.

Customers can hop online at ExpressSOS.com to renew their license plate tabs and driver’s licenses, change their address or get a replacement registration or title.
