Friends of Indian Lake Fishing Tournament set for this Saturday

MANISTIQUE – Indian Lake State Park will hold its annual Friends of Indian Lake Fishing Tournament Aug. 12. The tournament underway on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. with final judging at 5:30 p.m.

The awards presentation begins at 5:45 p.m.

There will be four categories: walleye, bass, northern pike, and panfish.

All fish registered will be judged by total length. Fish must be checked in by 5:30 p.m.; no fish will be judged after this time.

Trophies will be awarded to the first place winners in each category, along with prizes for second and third place winners.

Each adult will be given a free ticket for a chance to win a number of raffle prizes.

Additional tickets may be purchased prior to the raffle drawing. There will also be a special raffle for youth.

Participants can register starting Aug. 10 at the camp host site at the park with final registration at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the event at the tournament headquarters located at the boat launch.

There is a $10 entry fee for the adult division only.

A Michigan Recreation Passport is required to enter the park.
