Shelter, mBank announce ‘Vets & Pets’ program

Program a ‘thank you’ to vets, benefit to pets

MANISTIQUE – The Eva Burrell Animal Shelter and mBank are pleased to announce a new program for Veterans called Vets & Pets. The goal of the program is to say “thank you” to veterans for their service and dedication to our country. The bonds of friendship formed between human and animal have been proven to have the power of providing positive, emotional, and uplifting support to our troops. This new program is being sponsored by mBank.

Veterans are invited to visit the shelter to walk and play with dogs, cuddle cats and kittens, socialize with other veterans, and enjoy food and refreshments. The program is held every third Wednesday of each month from 5-7 p.m.

“The goal is simply to say thank you. To allow our animals to touch in a way that humans can’t. For our veterans to know that they matter and that their impact here matters. Our animals need them. Animals are amazing. We want to be able to share with those we honor, our Veterans. Also, we are so thankful that mBank has joined us in this opportunity,” said Patricia Newby, shelter manager-director.
