7 p.m. – There’s more to the
forest than the trees. Meet the
Park Explorer Guide at the first
bathrooms.
Star Search
9:30 p.m. – Meet the Park
Explorer Guide at the Beach
Shelter to learn about stars, planets
and galaxies. Bring binoculars,
bug spray and a comfy seat.
Aug. 2
Big Spring History
11:30 a.m. – Visit with the Park
Explorer Guide at Kitch-iti-kipi
at Palms Book State Park to learn
about regional history on a raft ride.
Bike Safe Rodeo
1-3 p.m. – Special guests will
share a message of bike safety.
Meet on the grassy field between
the shelters.
Bike Decorating/Bike Parade
3-4 p.m. – It is time for the annual
roll around the park. Get decorated
at the camp host site, and then it’s
time for a promenade.
Aug. 6
Morning Meander
11 a.m. – Start the day with a
trivia walk-get your body and mind
moving and discover the unusual
and true found in nature. Meet the
Park Explorer Guide by the camp
host site.
Discovery Zone!
1 p.m. – Meet the Park Explorer
Guide at Palms Book State Park to
uncover the mystery of the week.
Aug. 7
Crafty Camping

5 p.m. – Take time on your
vacation to make a special
keepsake. Meet the Park Explorer
Guide at the Beach Shelter for
creative recycling.
What in the Woods?
7 p.m. – There’s more to the
forest than the trees. Meet the
Park Explorer Guide at the first
bathrooms for a closer look at the
woods.
Going Batty
9 p.m. – Are bats scary, creepy
creatures? Join the Park Explorer
Guide at the Picnic Shelter and
uncover the truth about Michigan’s
only flying mammal.
Aug. 8
Old Fashioned Ice Cream
Social
2 p.m. – Sweet treats at the camp
host site.
Wild Outside
4 p.m. – Visit with the Park
Explorer Guide at the beach for
a special peek into nature with
stories or crafts about the wide
weld outdoors.
Taste of Michigan
7 p.m. – Join the camp hosts and
Park Explorer Guide at the camp
host site for a yummy trip.
Aug. 9
Big Spring History
1 p.m. – Visit with the Park
Explorer Guide at Kitch-iti-kipi
at Palms Book State Park to learn
about regional history on a raft ride
over the crystal clear water.
Annual Safety Fair Event
4 p.m. – Special guests,
including Smokey Bear, join the
Park Explorer Guide at the camp
host site for a message of safe
camping and fire safety.
