Bear problem leads to Deer Lake park closure

MDOT temporarily closes Deer Lake Roadside Park

LANSING – Michigan Department of Transportation temporarily closed the Deer Lake Roadside Park along M-28 in Alger County beginning Tuesday because of problem bears in the area.

Wildlife experts from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will be working to trap and relocate black bears that have been raiding garbage at the park.

The park will reopen as soon as possible.
