Lake Effect arts group seeks artists for show

MANISTIQUE – The Lake Effect Community Arts group of Manistique is putting out a call for all interested artists to participate in its upcoming 54th annual Art Fair. The fair will be held July 5, returning this year to the park adjacent to the marina on U.S. Hwy 2.

Having been recently completed, a renovation project at the marina has updated and improved this area, making it more pleasant and accessible.

Artist display spaces are 10 feet by 10 feet and two artists may choose to share a space. Cost for a space is $35. All media are accepted; art displayed must be original and handmade by the artist.

Limited edition prints are accepted but no molds, kits, copies, resale items, or food sales will be allowed.

Demonstrations by the artist are encouraged. In addition, nonprofit groups are invited to exhibit for $20 a booth and may share a space.

Artists must complete a registration form available on the LECAC website: www.lakeeffectarts.org and will be considered on a first-received basis until all spaces are filled. Early registrations are encouraged. For first time exhibitor, a photo of the work to be sold should accompany the application.

Check-in is between 7 and 9 a.m. on July 5.

Exhibits need to be set up and ready and vehicles removed by the time the fair opens.

More details are available on the website or by mailing artfair@ LakeEffectArts.org or phoning (906) 450-5777 or (906) 283- 1001.
