Tufnell stands out in lacrosse


Jessie Tufnell Jessie Tufnell WHEELING, W. Va. – For the second week in a row, Wheeling Jesuit University women’s lacrosse standout Jessie Tufnell has been named to the GLIAC women’s lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll. Tufnell earned this honor following her standout performances for the Cardinals in recent conference wins against Findlay University and Walsh University.

Tufnell scored 11 goals over the two games, and topped that off with a combined three assists, seven ground balls, and two caused turnovers.

Tufnell was also named the GLIAC Athlete of the Week on April 1, extending her impressive run of accolades to three weeks.

Tufnell is a sophomore attending Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, W. Va., majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Todd and Kristen Tufnell of Flower Mound, Texas and the granddaughter of William and Gayle Tufnell of Manistique.
