Big Bay de Noc to host annual grad scramble

NAHMA – The Big Bay de Noc 2015 Senior Drug Free Grad Party committee will hold their annual fundraising scramble on June 7.

The 18-hole event will be held at the Nahma Golf Course. The twoperson scramble will tee-off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Participation cost is $25 per person with lunch provided. Prizes will be awarded in each flight.

Golfers interested in taking part can send team names along with entry money to: Big Bay de Noc Grad Party Event, C/O Cathy Knudson, 10476 LL Road, Rapid River, MI 49878. Entry deadline is May 31.

There will be a limited number of carts available. Reservations need to be made in advance with the course.

Clinics for baseball and softball umps scheduled

MANISTIQUE – It’s that time of year to start gearing up for a new baseball and softball season.

Little League Softball and Baseball will be holding an umpire clinic on May 5. The clinic will run from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. at Cardinal Field in Manistique.

The workshop is open to all adult and youth umpires.
