Pioneer Tribune photos Spring weather was not part of the equation for the Manistique Emeralds’ softball team as they hosted Iron Mountain in their season opener Tuesday. The team’s score at the end of the double header reflected the team’s commitment despite chilled play. Usually not a considered a lucky number, Emeralds ended the night with two scores of 13 – winning both games. Game one wrapped up at 13-2 and following game came to a close with a score of 13-0. Above, coming off a 13-2 win in their season debut, the Lady Emeralds scored early in the night camp, taking game two 13-0. With two on base and two outs in the bottom of the first inning, Sammie Williams drove one to the fence, clearing the bases while scoring on an inside the park home run.
