Delays hit spring sports
MANISTIQUE – Following suite with 2013 spring sports, several Manistique High School activities will see changes to their 2014 schedule. On Monday, officials announced delays in golf, track, and softball due to inclement spring weather.
According to Manistique High School Athletic Director Rob Ryan, the current conditions, coupled with anticipated weather over the next week prompted the changes. Included in the delays are:

High school track – Indoor practice will continue. An indoor meet has been added to the schedule. The team will travel to Houghton today (April 10) to participate in the Michigan Tech Indoor Invite. The Superior Dome meet in Marquette on April 16 will be attended as planned. The first outdoor meet is scheduled for April 22 at Iron Mountain.
High school golf – With the Indian Lake Golf and Country Club still under a blanket of snow, indoor practice will continue on the weight deck. Home meets scheduled at the course for April 15 and 16 will very likely be postponed or cancelled. Indoor practices will continue until the course opens for the season.
Junior high track – An informational meeting for students in grades seven and eight was held on April 8. The first practice is set for today (April 10) after school. The first team meet is scheduled for May 1.
