MARQUETTE – Manistique resident Tristan Ashbrook recently completed his first season playing hockey with the Marquette Electricians in Marquette.

The Marquette Electricians Midget AAA Hockey Club was formed in 1986 to provide an opportunity for Upper Peninsula hockey players to compete at the highest level possible. The AAA hockey team (U-18) is available to players age 18 and under by birthdates determined by USA Hockey. It is the goal of the organization to develop, prepare, and advance players to the next level of hockey with a rigorous 50-60 game schedule against the top U-18 teams from North America and Europe.

The Electricians promote players to all junior leagues. The North American Hockey League and the United States Hockey League are the two primary Jr. “A” leagues (U- 20) used by college scouts to recruit players to their respective NCAA D-1 and NCAA D-3 schools.

Suiting up as number 19, the forward finished the season leading in goals and assists. Ashbrook was recently presented the Scott Willman Leading Scorer Award and the Forward Rookie of the Year Award.

Tristan is the son of Travis and Laurel Ashbrook.
