George M. Bosanic
He was born April 25, 1916, in Manistique, the son of Marcus and Josephine (Barkovich) Bosanic and attended schools in Manistique. He later served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. at Camp Steuben.
On June 28, 1938, he married the former Mildred R. Irie in Manistique. They made their home and raised their family here.
George was employed for many years at the Inland Lime and Stone Company in Gulliver, mainly as a railroad engineer. He was also selfemployed as a house painter.
He was a member of the Manistique Bible Church of Manistique and formerly served as a Deacon at the Bethel Baptist Church in Manistique. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards with friends, and wintering in Florida.
George is survived by his wife, Mildred R. Bosanic of Manistique; son, William (Candace) Bosanic of East China, Mich.; daughters, Janice (Richard) LaFoille of San Antonio, Texas and Barbara (Roger) Faust of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Julie (Matthew) McGee, Matthew (Heather) Bosanic, Luke Bosanic, Jeffrey Faust, Jana (Jamie Lillis) Faust and Jonelle Faust; great grandchildren, Tessa, R.J., Jacob, Brennan, Mahayla, Cael, Griffin, Anna, Blake and Hudson; sisters, Anna Lander of Manistique and Mary Lander of Georgia; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Marcus, Michael and Joseph Bosanic; and his sisters, Katie Sein and Barbara Mickelson.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, April 4, at Messier- Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the funeral home in Manistique.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique.
