Rested after the short trip west, the Emeralds came out with a full court press that the Lady Bears struggled to break. Taking advantage of turnovers created by the press, Manistique quickly jumped out front and held an 8-0 lead when Allie Nagy came up with a steal and found Maggie Morrison open under the net for two.

Down by eight points, Samantha Sundling scored the loan bucket for Big Bay as the quarter came to an end. Back-to-back triples by Morrison sent the Emeralds on a 14-0 run in the second quarter.

One from the charity stripe from Tina Harris broke the ice midway through the quarter for the Bears, who trailed 27-5 at the break.
