Emeralds drop two, look to districts

Jeff Bolm photo MANISTIQUE – The top ranked Mustangs were more than the Emerald boys could handle last Friday night at home. Not wasting any time, Munising jumped out to 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter of play, then pushed to 25-14 at the half.

The Emeralds caught a little fire in the third, scoring 16 points, but gave up 20 to Munising in the fourth quarter of the 59-39 non-conference loss in Manistique.

Tuesday, Manistique dropped a 60-41 decision to the Gladstone Braves.

Manistique (1-19) will wrap up the regular season at home against the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears.

Manistique travels to Harbor Springs to take on the 3-15 Rams in round one of district action Monday night.
