Snocross Championships set to come to Manistique

MANISTIQUE – Michigan Xtreme Racing will have its final stop on the Michigan Snocross Championship Series Tour March 1 and 2. MXR will bring snocross racers from all over the Midwest to Manistique for the final round of the Michigan Regional Championship Series.

The event promises high flying action as athletes from 4-year-old 120cc to pros compete for championship points.

The city of Manistique has been hard at work moving snow to the area across from Lakeshore Shell on Highway U.S. 2 so MXR track designers can build a world class track for racers and spectators.

Racing pits will open at 6 a.m. on Saturday. A drivers’ meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. with racing starting at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

Registration can be completed on MXR’s website at www.mxrracing.com. Participants can also register from 7-10 p.m. at the Kewadin Casino on Friday night.

Further information is available by contacting the Schoolcraft County Chamber of Commerce at 341-5010 or visiting the MXR’s website.
