Cecilia A. Fugere

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Cecilia A. Fugere, 92, of 1520 Arboretum Dr., Oshkosh, Wis., passed away Monday morning, Feb. 17, 2014, at her home.

She was born June 17, 1921, in Manistique, Mich., the daughter of George and Minola (Richards) Weber. Cecilia attended St. Francis de Sales School and graduated from Manistique High School.

Cecilia married Clarence Fugere on Sept. 6, 1947, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, in Manistique, where they made their home and raised their family. Clarence preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1970. She later married Donald Fugere on Nov. 8, 1975.

She worked for Ollie’s Red Owl and later managed the Delta Sewing Center. Cecilia retired as assistant county treasurer for Schoolcraft County.

Cecilia was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, WBA, St Christopher’s Circle and VFW.

In 2004, she and Donald moved to Oshkosh to be near her daughters.

Cecilia is survived by her husband,

Donald Fugere of Oshkosh; son, Rodney (Diane) Fugere of Britt, Minn.; daughters, Carol DeLaO of Oshkosh, and Irene (James) Arts of Kaukauna, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Phyllis Linden of Manitowoc, Wis.; and brothers, Delor “Pinky” (Jeanette) Weber of Tipler, Wis., Norbert (Kate) Weber of Escanaba, Mich., Clifford Weber of Linden, Mich., and Leland (Vivian) Weber of Etowah, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, son-in-law, Miguel DeLaO; sisters Bernetta Bouchard Reimer, Vera Kunesh and Kathryn Reichard; and her brother, Glenn Weber.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said in the spring at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Manistique.

Burial will follow in the spring at Fairview Cemetery in Manistique.

Messier-Broullire Funeral Home of Manistique is assisting the family with arrangements.
