MESP offers kids a chance to appear in magazine, ads
LANSING – Does your kid have a bright personality – and future ahead? Why not put both in the spotlight? The Michigan Education Savings Program-sponsored CoverKids Search is giving all Michigan children ages 2-12 a chance to appear on the cover of Metro Parent magazine. One lucky winner also appears in an MESP campaign, including print and TV, and gets $1,529 to jump-start his or her future college savings.
The contest is free to enter. Parents or legal guardians can visit MetroParent.com/CoverKids2014 to submit a digital photo of their child.
It should show off charisma and natural good looks (no makeup or costumes).
The search is open right now, and the entry cutoff deadline is 11:59 p.m. March 31.
From there, a team of professional photographers will pick 100 finalists, who are invited to a special live audition. They choose one grandprize winner, six additional winners and 10 runners-up, who compete in an online voting contest to be the Readers’ Choice winner. All eight of these kids will ultimately snag a photo shoot for a Metro Parent magazine cover.
Beside gracing the June 2014 magazine cover, the grand-prize kid also shines in an MESP advertising campaign, which includes print ads and a television commercial highlighting the importance of saving for college – and, of course, the grand-prize winner will earn $1,529 in an MESP college savings account.
