Bay seeks alumni nominations

ESCANABA – The Bay College Alumni Association is currently seeking nominations for the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award to be presented during the Awards Banquet on April 29.

This award was established in 1999 by the Alumni Association to recognize and honor an outstanding graduate of Bay College; one who has made contributions to his or her career, the community and the college. The selection is based on the following criteria: Education; Leadership; Service to the College and/or Community; Honors and Awards; and Distinction in the Nominees Career Field. Nominees should exhibit leadership abilities that inspire, motivate, and encourage others to reach their full potential.

Patrick Barron of Escanaba was named 2013 Alumni of the Year for Bay College. He received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Bay College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from Michigan State University. Patrick is the president, general manager and owner of A.M. Express and Red Pine Equipment, which together employ approximately 125 people. In addition, Patrick is active in his community serving as a past board member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization, Bay de Noc Community College Alumni Association, and Holy Family Men’s Club. He is a current board member of the Wells Lions Club.

Nomination forms should be received by Bay College no later than March 8.
