DeMars earns spot on Pensacola dean’s list

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Brooke Danielle DeMars was named to the dean’s list at Pensacola Christian College for academic achievement during the 2013 fall semester.

To be included, students must achieve a “B” average or higher.

Brooke is the daughter of Mrs. and Mr. Randy DeMars of Manistique.

MTU releases dean’s list for fall semester

HOUGHTON – Michigan Technological University has released the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester. To be included, students must achieve grade point averages of 3.5 or higher.

Among the honorees are the following from the local area: Stephanie Hubble, Cooks; Allysa Demers, Gulliver; Zachary Weber, Manistique; and Warren Miller, Seney.

MDCH launches new wellness initiative

LANSING – The Michigan Department of Community Health has launched a program encouraging Michigan schools to promote physical activity, healthy eating, and a tobaccofree lifestyle to students and staff. As part of the “Michigan Health and Wellness 4x4 Initiative”, the Michigan School Wellness Award program aims to recognize schools working to create healthier school environments.
