Manistique will host ‘Sprite Night’ Friday

MANISTIQUE – On Jan. 24, during the home boys’ basketball games, Manistique High School will have “Sprite Night”.

Two lucky individuals will be drawn to take a shot from half court. If they are lucky enough to make it, they receive a bottle of sprite every day for a year.

Those interested in participating can register during the junior varsity game.

According to Athletic Director Rob Ryan, even if they miss, participants will win cool “Sprite” prizes.

Cheer takes 2nd place in Eskymo invitational

ESCANABA - Manistique competitive cheer competed in the Eskymo Invitational Jan. 18 placing second in Division 4 with a team score of 675.62. They were just 12.04 points behind Munising.

Division 4 results by round: Munising 687.66 (211.4, 190.36, 285.9; Manistique 675.62 (212.1, 191.92, 271.6); Norway 659.06 (200.6, 189.36, 269.1)

The Manistique Middle School team also competed, taking third with 262.60.
