Trappers invited to event

HERMANSVILLE – The Midwinter Trappers Workshop in Hermansville is set for Feb. 1. Doors will open at 8 a.m. (CT) and the U.P. Trappers Association will be on hand for the fun-filled, learning opportunity for area youth.

Beside a chance to buy trapping supplies and sell fur, there will be a full schedule of events for kids.

Events for the children will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a weasel trapping demo by Eugene Arduin of Hermansville. Bob Whitens will demonstrate how to properly skin, flesh, and dry a weasel for sale. Each child will be given a free weasel box.

Afternoon activities include: Bob Whitens conducting a demo for trapping raccoons, both on land and in the water.

Rich Clark, who owns Willow Tree Fur and is an agent for North American Fur Auctions, will demonstrate how to skin, flesh, and stretch a muskrat, a raccoon, and a fox.
