Cheer will get first meet before the break

ESCANABA – The Manistique Emeralds’ varsity competitive cheer team competed in their first invitational of the 2013-14 season at the CCCAM Scholarship Invitational in Escanaba on Dec. 14.

Competing against mixed Division 3 and 4 teams, Manistique placed a notable third with a three round score of 638.70. The hosting team took first with a team score of 684.46.

Gladstone secured second with 648.96.

The Emeralds. led by veteran coach Kim Hayward, will be off during the winter break and resume competition on Jan. 4 at the Merrill Invitational.
