Chris H. Curran

Chris H. Curran Chris H. Curran FOX LAKE, Wis., – Chris H. Curran, 65, passed away suddenly at this home in the town of Fox Lake, Wis., on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.

Chris was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Manistique, Mich., to Leo and Mary (Wickwire) Curran. He graduated from Manistique High School and later graduated from General Motors School of Merchandising and Management.

He married the former Mary “Teno” Hoholik on Feb. 4, 1967, in Manistique.

Chris was partner/owner of Curran Chevrolet in Manistique until he left in 1987 to open a new Chevrolet dealership venture in Markesan, Wis. He later held management positions in the automobile industry until his retirement.

He was a former president of the Manistique Area Chamber of Commerce, a trainer and very active in the Manistique Boxing Club, former member of the Manistique Elks Club, Manistique Moose Lodge, Indian Lake Golf and Country Club in Manistique and Tuscumbia Country Club in Green Lake, Wis. Being an avid golfer, he was a member of the Thursday Men’s Golf League in Manistique and at Green Lake. He was also a past member of the Markesan Lions Club, a Little League coach and member of the Chevrolet Motor Division Legion of Leaders for many years.

He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife of 46 years, Mary “Teno” Curran of Fox Lake; one son, Richard (Lynn) Curran of Northville, Mich.; two daughters, Jane (Roger) Budde of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Julie (Jhae) Larson of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; as well as cherished grandchildren, Kylie (Keith) Karnatz, Jacob Larson, Sara Curran, Haylee Larson and Chase Curran; and one great-granddaughter, Danika Karnatz. He is further survived by a very special aunt, Betty De- Sautel of Manistique; two brotherin laws, Donald (Denys) Hoholik of Manistique, and Peter (Karen) Hoholik of Pendleton, Ore. He also had some very special friends in Fox Lake and Manistique, too numerous to mention.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Jane Hoholik and his very special aunt, Dorothy Hoholik.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, at noon at Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home
