Senior Center News
I am being told our Craft and Bake Sale was a huge success. Words are not “big” enough to thank the volunteers who stepped forward to make it so. And a big majority of them were new volunteers. Thank you, thank you, thank you goes out to Kim Chartier, Joanne Milavec, Connie Mikos, Jackie Severin, Deanna Fish, Gale Sobieski, Frances Thomas, Marsha Jenerou, Becky Chartier, Kristin Anderson and Lucille Boyd,
Another thank you goes out to our wonderful volunteer bakers who made everything from homemade caramels, caramel corn, lemon bars, fudge and peanut clusters to gingersnaps, snicker doodles, etc.

We have one seat available for the bus trip going to the “Christmas on Ice Show” at the Island Resort and Casino in Escanaba. The cost is $37 per person, which includes a ticket to the show and transportation. The bus will be departing from the Senior Center parking lot at 11:30 a.m., allowing free time before the show begins. Call the Center at 341-5085 for further information.
Please keep in mind the Senior Center offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29, to observe Thanksgiving, and to spend time with family and friends and eat lots of munchies.
The Center sincerely wishes to thank Will and Kathy Barker of Barker Construction for being so patient on waiting for their money on replacing the roof. Your company is “the best.” I would also like to sincerely thank my two boards for all their patience and assistance. You are appreciated more than you may know for all the hours you volunteer your time.
Jean Flodin dropped by the office with homemade caramels. (And I can testify they are awesome!) John and Mary Lou Arnold dropped by with two large bags of gift give aways.
A military donation was given by Diane Herlik. Greg and Pauline Gaffney gave a miscellaneous donation. Dan Barber volunteered his time at Tuesday’s bingo. Thanks, Dan!
