Band, Glee Club host ‘Coffee House’ tonight

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Middle and High School Band, along with the Glee Club, is hosting a “Coffee House Fundraiser” tonight (Thursday). The event takes place at the Upper Crust Deli at 6:30 p.m.

The fundraiser will feature musical selections from the Glee Club, as well as dessert and coffee. Cost of admission is $7.50.

Proceeds from the event will assist in the groups’ joint field trip to Appleton, Wis., where they will attend the Broadway production “Wicked”.

Library to close for the Thanksgiving holiday

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique School and Public Library will be open on Nov. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Association sets training for groomer drivers

MANISTIQUE – There will be a mandatory training meeting for 2013-14 snowmobile groomer drivers at on Nov. 30. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at the SCMTA Clubhouse in Manistique.

A current driver’s license must be presented and 2014 club membership fees will need to be paid to be included in the training.

Story time to take place at library on Friday

MANISTIQUE – Manistique School and Public Library will be hosting a “Story Time” on Nov. 22. The event is sponsored by Great Start Schoolcraft County Parent Coalition and the library and will begin at 10 a.m.

Children age four and under are invited to attend with an adult. Attendees will meet in the children’s section of the library for the event.

The event will feature a variety of stories and snacks, along with crafts.

No sign up is necessary.
