Senior Center News
If you like music, I encourage you to drop by the Center this evening for our monthly potluck. Entertainment begins at approximately 4 p.m. Frank Sweeny and The Front Yard Gang will be volunteering their time to play. Dinner will follow at approximately 5 p.m.
Northern Michigan Hearing Clinic will also be at the Center today, offering free hearing tests. To make an appointment call (800) 637-7816.
They come once a month, but they do leave batteries for $2 per package. These can be picked up Monday through Friday, from 8 to 4 p.m. (other than holidays).
Hard to believe, but the once a month evening meal provided by CAA is fast approaching. They have had a great turnout. Why not join them on Nov. 25, at 5 p.m. The menu will consist of lasagna with all the fixings. Call Amanda at 341-5085 to register.
Keep in mind the Center will be closed on Nov. 28 and 29 to observe Thanksgiving, eat bunches and spend time with family and friends. We hope to see you all on Monday.
Have you purchased your annual Christmas Party ticket yet? The cost is $9 per person and is limited to the first 90 who sign up. The doors will open at 2 p.m., with the start of social time.
Entertainment for the evening will be Darryl Dixon and, of course, we will have our option gift exchange and picture with Santa. Please note that the Center will close at 12:30 p.m. on that day and reopen at 2 p.m., allowing us time to do our final preparations.
Unfortunately, our accountant has taken a full time position in Marquette. We wish Brittany Baker the very best in her new endeavor.
We have one seat available on our bus trip, which will be heading to the Christmas on Ice Show at the Island Resort and Casino on Dec. 15. The bus will be departing from the Center parking lot at 11:30 a.m., allowing free time before the show. The cost is $37 per person which includes your ticket to the show and transportation by Public Transit. We have a very nice crew going, filling the new large public transit bus. Remember, you do not have to have a partner, as we all mix and mingle together!
