The Manistique Middle and High School Band, along with the Glee Club, is hosting a “Coffee House Fundraiser” tonight (Thursday). The event takes place at the Upper Crust Deli at 6:30 p.m.

The fundraiser will feature musical selections from the Glee Club, as well as dessert and coffee. Cost of admission is $7.50.

Dec. 6 and 7: Manistique High School Drama Club invites you to “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” Performances are at 7 p.m. each evening in the middle/high school auditorium.

Trip to Ireland: There will be a parent meeting for all those interested in the 2015 trip to Ireland, Wales, and England. The first meeting is at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 in Room 224. If you cannot make that date, there will be another opportunity at 4 p.m. on Dec. 10 in Room 224. Information can be obtained from Mrs. Anderson. It’s going to be a great adventure, so don’t miss out!

A representative from the University of Wisconsin/Green Bay will be at the Manistique High School on Nov. 25 to meet with juniors and seniors.

New scholarship notice: Once again the Plum Creek Community Scholarship Program is offering student scholarships open to all eligible high school seniors. The application period runs through Jan. 27. You can apply online at www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/plumcreek or pick up an application from Mr. Rochon in the Guidance Office. Other scholarship opportunities currently available with their deadline: Elks (Dec. 6); Truman D. Picard supporting Native Americans (Jan. 17); MEA (Feb. 28). If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Rochon (341- 4307).

Schoolcraft County Prosecutor, Tim Noble, will be speaking to grades 6-8 and grades 9-12 on “Issues in the Headlines” in the Auditorium on Dec. 3.

MAS Swim Team can be seen in action at 5 p.m. on Nov. 25, as they host Marquette. You can see them again on Dec. 2, at home against Ishpeming/Negaunee (same time).

Girls Basketball begins at home on Dec. 3, as the Lady Emeralds tip-off against the Munising Mustangs. JV game begins at 6 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7:30 p.m.

The Emerald Green Fire Booster Club will meet in the middle/high school Community Room at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9. They are ready to welcome new members interested in supporting our student athletes.

Happy Thanksgiving from the students and staff at Manistique Area Schools. Our break covers Nov. 27 –29. School resumes on Dec. 2.
