City manager plans to speak at club meeting

MANISTIQUE – Manistique City Manager Sheila Aldrich will be the featured speaker at the GFWC Manistique Women’s Club meeting set for Nov. 12. The meeting, addressing “The Future of Manistique”, will take place at noon at the Comfort Inn.

Donations for Thanksgiving baskets and aOperation Christmas Child will be collected.

Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and will be available at the Peoples Store from Nov. 4 until noon on Nov. 11.

Attendees must present tickets at the luncheon. No reservations or ticket sales can be accepted after the deadline.

‘Bells for Hospice’ to take place on Friday

MANISTIQUE – In recognition of National Hospice Month, Schoolcraft Memorial HomeCare and Hospice staff, volunteers and community members will gather at Triangle Park to ring the bells for Hospice on Nov. 1.

This is a nationwide event to increase awareness of hospice services.

The public is invited to attend, which takes place at 12 p.m., to show their support for the care provided by area home nursing services.

In addition, a “We Remember When” meeting will be held on Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m. in the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Atrium.

The meeting includes a memorial service, panel discussion, refreshments, and the support.
