Fun in the sun ... reading

To keep students reading during the summer months, St. Francis de Sales Catholic School teachers devised a plan before school recessed for summer vacation. All students in kindergarten through eighth grade were given an assigned reading list and projects to be completed by the first week of the new school year. Projects were graded and counted as a reading grade. All students completing their projects were placed in a drawing for a $100 Walmart gift card. The lucky winner was Paige Rochefort, from Ms Oman’s fourth grade class.
