More gate damage on trails

Above, the Trail 421 gate by Cooper Swamp, north of Gulliver, is shown damaged recently. The damage was discovered by Schoolcraft County Motorized Trails Association volunteers, who work on various snowmobile trails throughout the county. According to the SCMTA, gates are installed for two reasons: at the request of a private land owner to prevent ORV damage or to protect state and/or federal wetlands from ORV traffic. The SCMTA is asking for the public’s help in reporting any known incidents of gate and/or trail damage.
