Kenneth G. Stoddard

GOULD CITY – Kenneth G. Stoddard, 98, of N6129 Milakokia Lake Road, Gould City, Mich., passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2013, at his home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1915, in Royal Oak, Mich., the son of George Leslie and Corinne (Kilpatrick) Stoddard. He graduated from Cass Tech High School in Detroit.

He proudly served our country as a sergeant in the National Guard.

On Jan. 24, 1940, Ken married Leona Hazel Angoli in Royal Oak. Leona preceded Ken in death on July 28, 2012.

Ken owned and operated Udell Hills Grocery, Restaurant and Gas Station in Manistee County for many years. He later was employed as a truck driver and school bus driver, retiring in 1980.

He later moved to the Gould City area from Manistee in July 2012.

Ken was a member of MARSP, NRA, Steel Workers Union and Ducks Unlimited. Ken loved to fish, collect railroad lanterns and further enjoyed anything that had to do with trains.

Surviving Ken are his daughters, Judith (Gerald) Belcher of Gould City, Anita (Robert) Dewey of Wellston, Mich., and Alice Jo (Jim) Zdebski of Gould City; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife Leona, Ken was preceded in death by his sisters, Vera Tustin and Ethel Viletizek.

In following with Kenneth’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
