Table or treat set to return

Trick-or-treating fun to be offered indoors

MANISTIQUE – Get your little ghosts and goblins, princesses and super heroes ready for some cozy trick-or-treating, because the third annual “Table or Treat” is just around the corner! The event will take place on Oct. 29 inside Emerald Elementary.

Table or Treat is hosted each year by the Schoolcraft County Great Start Parent Coalition, and has grown substantially since its inception three years ago. Leann Espinoza, parent liaison for the Delta-Schoolcraft Great Start Collaborative, said parents and children seem to enjoy sporting their costumes in a nice and warm venue.

“The event has been successful and has grown significantly – in fact, we had approximately 400 children visit our tables last year!” she said.

The event originally started as a “trunk or treat” for children, but the frequent inclement weather of the area led organizers to opt for a more controlled climate. Participating local businesses and organizations will line the hallways of Emerald Elementary, offering treats, games or other items to each child visiting their table. Parents can take advantage of the opportunity to obtain more information from each business or organization.

This year’s event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

For more information or for businesses or organizations looking to participate in the event, contact Leann Espinoza at (906) 286-3168.
