Charlene J. Gould Charlene J. Gould MANISTIQUE – Longtime Manistique area resident, Charlene J. Gould, 77, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba, Mich., where she has resided for the past few years.

She was born April 6, 1936, in Manistique, the daughter of Leo “Smokey” and Eleanor (Brawley) Kerridge and attended Manistique area schools. She was a graduate of Manistique High School with the Class of 1954.

On April 21, 1956, the former Charlene J. Kerridge married Gordon F. Gould in Manistique and they made their home here. Gordon preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1969.

Charlene was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino in her later years. Most important to her was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Mary Hayden of Green Bay, Wis., Barbara Winters of Manistique, Gary (Tina) Gould of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Gordon (Tammy) Gould, Jr. of Manistique, Shelli (John) Gould of Manistique, Theresa (Tom) Nelson of Sturgeon Bay and Michele (Tom) Van Den Bogart of Surgeon Bay; grandchildren, Doug Hayden, Molly Hayden, Kati Hayden, Willie Henry, Misty Weber, Misty Herro, Nina Gould, Christa Blaisier, Sheree Weber, Kylie Carey, Kerbi Eimerman, Shelby Eimerman, Drew Nelson, Curtis Nelson, Lacey Nelson, Sara Howard, Matthew Weber, Jacob Goudreau, Cole Goudreau and Rylie Dillon; 37 great-grandchildren; sister, Deanna (Ray) Swanson of Manistique; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary and Charles Kerridge; and her special friend, Wally Henry.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Manistique.
