Play(ed) to win

The Eva Burrell Animal Shelter recently announced the winner of its “Playhouse Raffle”, which was a summer-long fundraiser for the nonprofit. The winner, Kathe Nedeau, right, is shown with the builder of the custom playhouse, Will Barker of Barker Construction. Barker donated the structure to the shelter as a fundraising tool. The playhouse was on display at numerous events over the summer months, including the Independence Day parades in Manistique and Curtis, the Manistique Merchant’s Car Show, and the shelter’s wine tasting fundraiser. The playhouse comes equipped with carpeting and electricity and was painted and decorated by Kathy Barker.
