A walk around the world

St. Francis de Sales Catholic School kicked off their school year and wellness initiative with a family picnic, as well as a walk down and around the boardwalk. The walk was the start of their 24,900 mile trek around the world. All the students were given a t-shirt with the “Walk Around the World” logo on the front and 25, 50, 75 and 100 mile increments to check off on the back. Students will be given rewards with each goal achievement and parents and other family members are encouraged to participate. Additional shirts can be purchased in the school office. Once a month, the total miles walked will be recorded on a world map posted in the gym.
